Detroit Lions linebacker James Houston found himself at the center of a viral moment on Sunday after TV cameras zoomed in on what appeared to be a suspicious stain on his pants during the game. Fans quickly speculated that Houston had, in fact, soiled himself on the field, sparking widespread ridicule online.

The Gatorade Stain Excuse

After the incident, Houston explained the stain by claiming it was a “Gatorade stain” from sitting down in some spilled Gatorade. However, his explanation didn’t sit well with everyone—especially not with NFL star Jason Kelce.

On the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, hosted by Jason and his brother Travis Kelce, Jason didn’t buy Houston’s story for a second. With a knowing smile, Jason called out the stain as something else entirely, saying there was “no way” it was from Gatorade. According to Jason, it was far more likely that Houston had, in fact, pooped his pants during the game.

Jason Kelce’s Bold Theory

Jason, who admitted to a similar pre-game mishap in the past, confidently stated, “We all know what that is. And he has nothing to be ashamed of… I’m here to have your back, James.” He went on to explain that players often deal with unexpected accidents, particularly when wearing white pants, which tend to highlight any stains in a less-than-flattering way. “I hate white pants,” Jason added. “This is not the first time this has happened. I know many players this has happened to.”

Will Houston Come Clean?

Despite the Kelce brothers’ confidence in their theory, it’s unlikely that James Houston will come forward and admit to the incident. After all, he’s already stuck with his Gatorade story, and backing down now would be difficult. But, as Jason Kelce noted, “We know what our eyes see,” and many fans are still skeptical of the Gatorade explanation.

At this point, it’s probably safe to say that Houston will keep his story intact, while the rest of the NFL world continues to speculate on what really happened during that fateful game. Regardless of whether it was a Gatorade stain or something else, Houston certainly won’t be living this one down anytime soon.
