If you haven’t heard, this up and coming comic, Matt Rife has been launched into the spotlight due to his acclaimed crowd work, obvious good looks and the attention it got on TikTok.
First off, I love comedy. I love dark comedy, fart jokes, storytelling, a plethora of comedic styles. In my opinion, which I’m self aware enough to know, means absolutely nothing, this guy fuckin sucks at comedy. I don’t even think his crowd work is good. This guy gets a HUGE pass due to his chiseled jaw line and Botox injected lips. We’ve all seen the 5th year senior in the frat house that has washboard abs and no personality still bagging 10s because he looks like a state college Jason Momoa. The dude obviously had a “glow up.” And good for him honestly, I’m still waiting for mine to happen. I think he’s one of those industry plants where they prop him up and give him opportunities because of his good looks regardless if he’s good at comedy or not. The dude even knows he’s not funny:
Ok. I’m done shitting on this guy. We know I don’t think he’s funny. But here’s what I despise, he was recently “cancelled” for a joke he told about “domestic abuse.”
First off, if you don’t like the comedy someone does, just don’t listen. These dumbasses are killing comedy. I like dark humor, I like offensive jokes. Just because you can’t handle the heat doesn’t mean other people don’t enjoy it and there is nothing wrong with having a dark sense of humor, last time I checked it wasn’t illegal yet. So that’s number one. Number two, these are the same women that think Amy Schumer and Nikki Glaser’s abortion jokes are fucking hilarious. So joking about murdering an unborn baby is ok but where we can’t cross the line is joking about women getting hit because they can’t cook. Shut the hell up. If you can’t joke about everything, you can’t joke about anything. These women crying of misogyny need to find a man, they are so unhappy they literally don’t want other people laughing. Let’s see if it pays off for him! Just to reiterate, I do not hate him for what he said, comedy should not be regulated, I hate him because I don’t think he’s funny.
